Stolen Children : West Java

In the West Java context, many Stolen Children were brought to towns such as Tasikmalaya, Garut, Sukabumi, and Bandung. After they arrived at their destination, their dream of having an affluent life and access to education was prevented because of their forced foster families low income. These families were often soldiers in the Indonesian military who had been on assignment in Timor Leste. Stolen Children were forced to change their cultural identity and convert their religion in accordance with the religion and cultural norms of West Java.
