Armin Septiexan (Nusa Tenggara Timur)
Armin Septiexan is an artist who lives in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara, on Timor Island. He is interested in post-colonial stories and historical memories that form in urban culture. Since 2011, he has joined the SkolMus community (The Multimedia School for All- Sekolah Multimedia Untuk Semua) that focuses on photography, videography, and cultural revitalization through visual archiving. Since 2019, he and the Kupang Film Community have worked on their first long documentary movie.

Bombo is an audio-visual duo made up of Reza Enem and Rais Rice, that was established in Makassar in 2015. Their first collaboration was exhibited in Makassar’s 2nd BERDIKARI event. Social, political, and cultural themes are topics heavily featured in their works. In 2016, Bombo exhibited its’ work in the Roaming Assembly #6: intraACTION: transCOLONIALISM that was a part of the SONSBEEK 2016 and DAI (Dutch Art Institute) in the Netherlands. Bombo was also a Water Connection Resident Artist at FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) in England with their resident’s artist program, with their work later presented in the 2017 UK/ID Festival in Indonesia.

Deny was born in Wonosobo, 31 March 1994 and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Visual Art from Semarang State University (Universitas Negeri Semarang). Since he was four years old, Deny has shown a strong interest in art, especially traditional art such as puppetry, Jaran Kepang (Kuda Lumping is a traditional Javanese Dance depicting a group of horsemen from East Java, Indonesia), and mask dances. Currently, Deny works using many techniques from drawing and installation to performance art.

Toma & Kako is a creative studio that works in the design graphics and film industry; this creative studio was conceived by two friends, Dian Tamara and Dhiwangkara Seta at the end of 2017 in Jakarta. When making their work, Toma & Kako sourced direction from personal experience or social issues to create authentic works. Several music videos they have created include Sunshine (The Panturas), Putih (Glaskaca), Ironi (Kelompok Penerbang Roket), Ruang Kecil (Bilal Indrajaya), Semburat Silang Warna (Upstairs), Tell Me What To Do (Indische Party) and many others.

Fat Velvet is the only visual art collective in Bandung, West Java consisting of all women members. The members formed this collective because of their shared frustration regarding the position of women in the arts and creative industry in Bandung. Until now, Fat Velvet had been actively working for more than 3 years. Based on their extensive artistic works, this collective does not confine themselves in any one artistic concept or medium. Fat Velvet focuses on voicing women’s concerns and perspectives on issues, and hopes that equality in the industry is not only attainable through campaigning, but also through representation and performance. Several of Fat Velvet’s works have been previously exhibited in ARTJOG MMXIX Daily Performance, Art Jakarta 2019, Kaya Indonesia Gallery, and Lawangwangi Creative Space.

Ika Vantiani
Ika Vantiani is a self-taught artist, curator and crafter. She mostly discusses women, media and consumerism in her works. Before working as an artist, Ika used to work in the communications industry for more than 13 years after she graduated from The London School of Public Relations, Jakarta. Today, apart from being an exhibiting artist, workshop organizer and tutor, she has also curated some youth, fashion, and humanity themed exhibitions. Ika works and lives in Jakarta.

Agung Seldy Arimsyah
Seldy was born in Batangmata, Selayar Islands. He is currently studying at the Faculty of Law through Indonesia’s Unversitas Terbuka (Open University, Jakarta). For more than six years, he was active in many events as an event organizer, facilitator for the ganara.art focusing on social inclusivity, diversity, and tolerance. Now, Agung is volunteering at the Sulawesi Commission for the Missing People and Victim of Violence (KontraS Sulawesi). For the last year, he had participated as an Asia Justice and Rights (AJAR) Humanity’s Program facilitator regarding the issue of Stolen Children. Outside of his roles at KonstraS and AJAR, Agung is currently also volunteering in Allewai and working as a teaching assistant for children in the Jeneberang River region.

Amel, born in 1997, is a graduate from the Department of International Relations of the Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) with a special focus in Social and Political Studies. Rezki began to delve into human right’s issues in 2015, in line with his membership with the student body. Rezki’s roles include Advocacy and Strategic Research Coordinator at HIMAHI FISIP UNHAS Advocacy 2017/2018, member of the UNHAS Student Press Research Division 2018, volunteer in the Sabang Urban Social Forum in Makassar, 2020, facilitator at AJAR, and a supporter for KontraS Sulawesi since 2019. Rezki is interested in gender, urban, environment and humanistic issues especially women and children’s advocacy.

Et finished his Bachelor Degree in Philosophy at Widya Mandira Catholic University, Kupang. In 2014, he continued his studies in Public Administration in Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta and graduated in 2017. In 2018, he joined the Humanitarian Volunteer Network (Jaringan Relawan untuk Kemanusiaan- JRUK) around issues of human rights and trafficking. Tin has known about humanistic issues ever since they were in college. In 2012, they attended the book launch of forbidden memories in the Theological Faculty at their university. In 2015, Agustin attended a discussion on the publication of research into human trafficking. This research looked at Indonesian Migrant Workers from the East Nusa Tenggara region. As a volunteer in the East Indonesian Women Network (JPIT) Agustin has assisted with victims of human trafficking between 2017 – 2019. Now, Agustin has become a JPIT staff member in the assistance of victims of past human right’s violations. This experience of mentoring and assisting victims and survivors will strengthen Agustins understanding of comprehensive service provision, especially in their church environment.

Wisnu studied at the Pasundan University, Bandung, in 2013 and joined the Universitas Pasundan International Relation Student’s Academic Circle in 2014. In 2016, Wisnu created a zine named “Cikudapapers” to report on the Rojava Revolution in Syria and the Dago Elos people’s struggle against eviction. Wisnu joined the Legal Aid Institution in the Civil and Political Department in 2018 and has been involved in LBH Bandung (Legal Aid, Bandung) mapping of West Java labourers migration abroad in 2019. Wisnu has been actively involved in the Indonesian migrant workers’ return from Saudi Arabia. He has paid great attention to social movements and issues, and documented techniques in human rights violations.

Hana Kurniasih, whose zodiac is Capricorn from her birth until this very moment, lived in Bandung. While finishing her bachelor degree in law in the Padjadjaran University, she was active in the Bandung Legal Aid Foundation (LBH Bandung). During her time in the LBH Bandung, she has had the opportunity to learn many human right’s issues, such as learning about women’s issues and past human right’s abuses, specifically, the Timor Leste Stolen Children’s issue. Recently, she was preoccupied with many deadlines, working on several accompaniment modules.

Glo born in Jakarta in 1998 is now a digital artist who works from her home in Bandung, West Java. From 2018 – 2019, she has had the opportunity of being involved with LBH Bandung (Legal Aid, Bandung) and AJAR, learning about and advocating for Timor Leste’s Stolen Children. Before being involved in these issues, she was preoccupied with her illustrated work, training to play music, and reading books. She is interested in issues of domestic violence and human rights violations.

Alongside the Kendeng Mountains Community Care Network (Jaringan Masyarakat Peduli Pegunungan Kendeng- JMPPK), Adiyat actively engages in the rescue movement in the Kendeng mountains. Aditya has also made several music illustrations for a contemporary art group in Semarang called “Wayang Tenda Nanda Wuyung”, he also plays bass in “Serambi”, a musical group that advocates for social and humanitarian issues. In 2019, with AJAR and IKOHI in the Humanity Project, he accompanied the survivors of the ‘65 Incident in several areas in Central Java. Environmental and Human Rights abuses that have never been resolved continue to inspire Adiyat to learn and work in the area.

Sholekan, born in Grobogan, East Java, now works as a journalist in regional media. He is currently studying Law at Semarang State University (UNNES). In 2019 (when he was a college student), he had the chance to learn about past human rights violations with the ‘65 Incident survivors in several East Java areas, along with the aid from the Semarang colleagues. Recently, he has intensely followed the COVID-19 development in East Java, especially in Semarang. In his spare time, he frequently listens to the Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast.

Arga is currently in the process of graduating from the Department of History, at Diponegoro University’s Faculty of Cultural Studies (UNDIP). Between 2016 – 2018 he was an active volunteer in Indonesia’s Greenpeace, especially for the Batang’s Electric-Steam Power Station development. Along with a few of his friends, he also formed an art event, with freestyle musical improvisation under the name “Majelis Improvisasi” which has been going since 2018. In 2019, he was engaged in AJAR’s Humanity Project, specifically on the 1965 incident in East Java. In his spare time, he occasionally holds film screenings, discussions, art performances, and music.

Hilya, studied at the State Islamic University of Walisongo (UIN) majoring in Islamic Penal Law, graduating in 2018. Alhilyatuz was active in the Community Empowerment Institution (LPM) Justitia, as a Editor in Chief in Liksa (Literary Academic Circle/ Lingkar Kajian Sastra). Currently, they have dedicated their career to supporting the Insitute for Social and Religious Studies (Yayasan eLSA), Semarang as the Coordinator for Gender Research and Study of issues of Freedom of Religion and Faith (Kebebasan Beragama dan Berkeyakinan) in East Java. She is also involved in Semarang’s Gusdurian Community, and recently joined AJARs Humanity Project focusing on the ‘65 Incident in East Java. In 2019, Alhilyatuz founded a women’s collective, named “Voicing Young Women” that actively advocates for sexual violence cases on campus. She is intrigued in humanitarian and womens issues.

Moreng, was born in Morotai. In 2019, she officially graduated from Indonesian Chrisitian University (UKI), with a degree in International Relations. Her experience as an intern / volunteer in AJAR in 2018 strengthened her knowledge about Human Rights, and she became interested in similar issues. From this experience, she had the opportunity to meet with the Stolen Children victims from Timor living in Jakarta, and understand the effects of what they went through. Moreng is interested in child rights, in particular violations experienced by children, such as sexual violence, underage marriages, and dropping out of school.

Kicay was born in Jakarta 25 years ago. She works part-time as an educator in an educational start-up company. In 2019, she had the opportunity to join the Humanity program, and in the process, she learnt about the experiences of Stolen Children and other Human Rights issues. In her spare time, she avidly reads classical novels that she owns but rarely had the time to read. She has an interest in women’s issues, human rights, and history.

Going by the name Molan, Ma’ul, or Mul, he was born about a month after the devastating massacre of Santa Cruz in Timor Leste, 1991. However, the two events are completely unrelated, and he credits his birth purely due to the love between his father and mother. In 2019, he joined the Humanity program where he then met face to face, and had a direct dialogue with the survivors of Stolen Children in the wider Jakarta area. Currently, he works for a law firm in Jakarta to assist the public in seeking justice and is also writing a book on the theme of the tax law series.

Born in Jeneponto, 23 years ago, Aswin is currently a student in the Law Department of Indonesia’s Open University (Universitas Terbuka). He is currently volunteering for KontraS Sulawesi. In 2016, he had the opportunity to learn about the Timor Leste’s Stolen Children issue in KontraS Sulawesi and was frequently involved in the search and documentation process. Juan currently works in the Eastern Indonesian Women Network (Jaringan Perempuan Indonesia Timur- JPIT) as the Head of the Anti- Human Trafficking Criminal Act Division (TPPO). She joined JPIT in 2017, after she finished her bachelor’s from the Theological Faculty in Artha Wacana Christian University (UKAW) in Kupang. She has accompanied victims and their families, specifically in economic development, and is now involved as one of the facilitators in the Humanity program in collaboration between AJAR and JPIT. She is interested in humanitarian issues, especially human trafficking, women’s and children’s issues, and gender.
